Let’s see: Messy room, where is my gift card from Olive Garner?, did I already give the gift to Sam?, ohh no I’m late again to Mary’s party!!!, did I forgot Steve’s birthday party last week?, etc.
So all these are happening, in a world where there are a million of things that one person can do, yet finding that one thing you have been looking for for hours is still missing can’t be happening again, right?. This happens to everyone but having a system in which there are no(I forgot this) occurring is possible.
The solution to this is writing down or documenting it somewhere, some people prefer online while others on paper. Which ever system that goes with your preference & lifestyle habits will win over the other. I prefer using a mix of both, when there is something on my mind and I want to quickly jot it down paper is easier, while when doing research online and want to remember a statistic or save a website I prefer using google docs.
Here is a detailed quick way to organize your life:
- 1- Journals (Through Small pocket journal and a A5 bullet journal)
- 2-Online-(Through Google Docs)
1-Journals
They are best in jotting quick information right away if 15 things on your mind at 3AM in the morning and don’t want to pull up a bright laptop.
1A- Small Pocket Journal: Think of it best for the Now, from today to a month notes, to even a year. You want to take this with you everywhere you go. Using a small journal is best for convenience, portability, lightweight, less pages but still wanting to take it places, easy to write something anywhere. I write down on my journal too many things to include here but I will share. I use it as a planner but get one that has blank pages so I can customize it and everyday write anything that I need. Things I need to do from now to the future, things to buy, business ideas, todays to-dos, art projects, visions I want to accomplish, a diary, reflecting on the day, notes on the day, doodles, art drawings, etc. These are some of the things I write on this small journal.
1B- A5 Bullet Journal: Think of it best for Keeping it till you die, for notes that you want to keep as big life events happen and want to document every few years. You want to keep this at a safe and static place only for you to look at. This will be a thicker journal with more pages, heavier, bullet journal type to customize and add what you need and want to keep customized for your liking. I use an EXCEED Bullet Journal, which works great so far. I write on it every once in a while but what I write is meaningful to me. I include things like filling the index, finance log, project ideas, dinner recipes from family, YouTubers I look up to to not forget in the future, Secret treasures hid at places, own advice and from others, key events/interactions/people/wow moments to remember, lessons learned so far w/ the date learned them, peoples phone #s, passwords, etc. You add things as collections as you see fit and skip pages to fill in with what your title of the page says.
-Search & read : https://bulletjournal.com which is my inspiration behind trying a bullet journal. Just this is my take on it with a few adjustments to my life.
(These are my own journals)
2-Online- Through Google Docs
I have a digital BJ online when it is more convenient and have the best of both worlds (like Hannah Montana ;)).This is free as long as you have a google account you can open a free document and title it BJ your name and the year and just use that and add pages instead of having multiple pages and documents. I use it the same as a physical bullet journal just that I have it in an online format. This is better for when you saw a YouTube video and snippets their tips with images and wrote down notes and you wanted to save links they mentioned without wanting to write them down one by one but copy paste. When I feel like typing, have my laptop on hand, am doing something online and can split my page and type and see a movie, etc. Have an index at the beginning with the pages info in and headers of what talking about in each of it.
Hopefully someone can benefit from this blog post and not be stressed when having to many post its and want specific things for specific needs that you may have. I will write can go more in depth as well if you all need. This is one of many more topics that have helped me and want to share it and not just keep it to myself.
Feel free to leave a comment and say hi and from where you are writing at!!!
Cheers,
Kenia L 🙂
