So here are some of the tips/hacks/methods of doing things I have done to combat Excessive Sweating:
Note: Not a Doctor or Specialist in this area, just an individual who sweats a lot. Sharing tips I have learned and done that helped me day-by-day attack sweat as best as possible. What might work for me, might not work for you!! But giving it a try does not hurt, but can only benefit you if it WORKS. <3
Important Note: Adapt all the tips to YOU.
(Tips listed are in no particular order)
Tip #16 & #20 Best Tip to start DOING!!!
There are some tips that you may hear often from people, but they do make a great impact on your sweat smell. Like Tip #13
Tips specifically targeting the Armpit area, but will positively impact the whole body as well!!
LET’S BEGIN
Tip #1: Wear Loose Clothing
-Let the armpit get as much air as possible to evaporate the sweat.
Tip #2: Wear Cotton material clothing
-Helps sweat evaporate from the shirt quicker and faster.
Tip #3: Frequently change your shirts as often as you need
-If you start sweating through your shirt, change to a clean shirt and repeat as often as you need per day.
Tip #4: Shower every day
-Minimum standard daily if you have the availability and access to. If you can’t shower more than once, follow all the other tips.
Tip #5: Shower more than once per day if you can
-Depending on your availability showering more than once can help with Body Odor and sweat.
Tip #6: Wash your Armpits in the Sink
Not as a shower replacement, but to freshen up during your day if you do not have time/are in a crunch with time for an event.
Tip #7: Take baths as often as you can
-If you have good clean quality water. And let the water temperature be between warm/hot.
Tip #8: Use antibacterial soap
-specifically when washing your armpits. There is just something with antibacterial soap that cleans off the deodorant and leaves your armpits CLEAN.
-Learned this tip from Chloe Yazmean, she is a YouTuber.
Tip #9: Always apply deodorant
-Keep your deodorant in an area you can remember to apply and is accessible to you right after the shower. Apply deodorant quickly after the shower, do not wait a long time.
Tip #10: Layer your deodorants
-Example: Apply first your dry spray deodorant and then your stick deodorant. Or vice versa. Recommend that they are the same brand or at least the same fragrance.
Tip #11: Apply Armpit Detox Masks
Before baths or showers apply them, and when done, head in the shower. Or you can take it off in the sink with a wet rag, but messier that way. The one I use and recommend is Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Facial Treatment. Safe for you to use on your armpits, says in the back of the product description. Has specifically helped with odor, reducing the smell the following few days.
Tip #12: Switch your deodorants every few months
-When you start noticing your deodorant not working as it once did, get a different scented deodorant and use that. In the beginning, you might stink since your body is adapting to a new scent and ingredients. But after that, it will work better.
Tip #13: Drink an adequate water amount for you
-A cliché tip, but it does help reduce Body Odor. Please Drink Your WATER PEOPLE!!!
Tip #14: Take Chlorophyll Daily
-Take them in pills, liquid, water, powder, or any form you have available to you and prefer. Choose one which would be easier for you to consume. If you don’t take pills because you have trouble swallowing them down, buy chlorophyll in liquid form and you could add that to your water bottle, etc.
This is the Chlorophyll I take, some of the benefits are: is an Internal Deodorant and reduces digestive tract odors. LINK:
-I was informed of taking Chlorophyll because of Chloe Yazmean. One of a few of my favorite YouTubers to watch.
Tip #15: Excise as often & consistent as possible
-I have found that working out in the morning specifically helps decrease body odor & the amount of sweat I produce during the day.
Tip #16: Live a Stress-Free Life
Any amount of stress in a person’s life leads to stress sweating. This is not cute or smells good. So living a slow life when possible is THE Cure. Talking for me since I have stress sweat rather than hyperhidrosis. If that is your case too, this will be Life Changing.
Tip #17: Do not be Anxious
-When you have anxiety, it spreads and impacts a person’s whole body. There are no positive effects of being anxious, only negative ones. So living a calm and relaxed life will for sure have a positive ripple effect on your sweating.
Tip #18: Live in Intentionality
-Be intentional with everything in LIFE! Rushing from one place to another, hurrying things, etc.. is not the way to go about LIFE. Butttt… Taking your time with everything helps you be mindful and purposeful with all your decisions. Ultimately not sweating and not having bad Body Odor in your LIFE.
Tip #19: Never stop learning
With anything in LIFE.
But especially if sweating excessively is a problem you have. Always be on the hunt for new products, learn everything about sweat, research people’s recommendations, etc… All this will lead you to attack any problem/and this problem head first.
Knowledge is Power.
Tip #20: Prayer
If you pray, pray right when you are starting to sweat/when it is happening. Personally, my stress sweat is self-caused, so many external factors influence me to start sweating. Prayer focuses on God rather than myself. Praying at the moment when you are sweating is the BEST tip I can Give You.
Tip #21: Shave as often as your skin can handle it!
-Personally, when I skip shaving, the BO increases. So I try my best to stay up on that.
Tip #22: Eat your recommended Vegetable serving everyday
-You know this, but do you do it? Diet is very important for various reasons, and the BO you have is correlated to diet. Especially if you do not eat the veggie-recommended amount daily.
Wanted to incorporate images in each tip but not letting me. The content by itself will have to do.
Thank you for reading!!
